What is counselling?

Counselling is very much a person-centred approach to working through the challenges of life. Unlike psychologists, counsellors are not focused on a diagnoses or label. Rather, our job is to listen to concerns you have, help clarify the issues, explore options and help you develop strategies to move forward in a positive way. Counselling is more than just talking. We also employ therapies that have an evidence base for effectiveness.

Guided by a person-centered approach, U Matter Counselling aims to create a therapeutic space where clients can freely express themselves, knowing they will be listened to without judgment. By fostering self-discovery and self-empowerment, we aim to assist clients in finding their own unique solutions and paths to personal growth and well-being.

U Matter Counselling firmly believes that clients are the experts of their own lives and experiences. Their role as counsellors is not to dictate or impose solutions, but rather to be companions on the client's journey. We strive to offer insight, encouragement, and support as clients explore and gain understanding of themselves, their past, and their potential futures.
